AMCC 3 STRIKE KNOCKOUT – RESULTS

The Manitoba pinball tournament season has begun. We had 18 players including a few new people come out to the curling club along with many of the regulars & veterans, including at least 2 out of town veterans who regularly come a long way to make this truly the Manitoba Pinball League.

We welcomed back David Morris with a card signed by many league members. And it must’ve been a source of inspiration because Dave was the tournament winner! Dave & Jay W went head to head in a final 2 with Dave having only 1 strike to Jay’s 2 strikes. Jay won on Monopoly & was riding a streak of 6 1st places in a row. In the final deciding round, it came down to the very last ball in a close game of The Addams Family, but Dave was able to end Jay’s streak for the win.

Ian G & Grant Z played a 3rd place match on Space Shuttle, with Ian winning & taking the final spot on the podium.

Honourable mention goes to Hugh L who finished in 5th place in his 1st ever MPL tournament!

Videos of the tournament including interviews have been posted to the new MPL YouTube channel:

AMCC – Parking Lot Changes

For those coming to Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club for tonight’s pinball tournament, if you haven’t been to AMCC for a few months, you will notice that parking has changed a bit due to construction next door – the extended lot on the east side is no longer available. If you cannot find parking in front or beside the building, you can park behind the building on the north side. See the linked map below.

For those who have never been to AMCC, the pinball machines are upstairs on the 2nd floor. Easiest way to find them is to enter in the side door (east side), the stairs upstairs will be on your left, go up & turn left – you will see the machines along the wall opposite the curling rinks.

Also a friendly reminder:
We will have dinner together at 5pm if you want to join us
Tournament start time is 6pm
Bring loonies & quarters – limited change on site

The Manitoba Pinball League is on Youtube

During the woman’s and open league you might have noticed a video camera filming people play. That was for our Youtube channel. Click the link or search for Manitoba Pinball League in Youtube. The channel will have some small clips of people playing then interviews after league nights and tournaments. After tournaments we would like to interview the winner of the tournament as well as anyone that is interested. Look for  Dave, Jay or Mr.Miller if you want to be interviewed. The interviews should not take to much time.
