Open League Night, Monday September 9th, 2024. This is the 4th of 6 league sessions. New for 2024 – we’re doing multiple league seasons per year. This is the 3rd season to be held in 2024. Each player’s top 4 League Nights will count toward the qualifying standings to determine who will move onto the League Finals. Only players that participate in at least 3 League Nights will be counted as eligible for playoffs and IFPA WPPR value purposes.
League Nights:
League nights will consist of 6 total games played in 3 or 4 player groups. Match points will be awarded based on a player’s finishing position on each game they play (7/5/3/1). Players will be randomly placed in new groups for each game.
League Finals:
League Playoffs will be held to determine the winner of the league after all 6 league nights have been completed. The format for this playoff will now be a best-of-7, head-to-head single elimination bracket. The number of players that qualify will be based on the number of total League Members. If 32 or more players participated in 3 or more league nights, the top 16 players will qualify, otherwise the top 50% of players (rounded down) will qualify & byes will be awarded in the 1st round if necessary.

We will have a Pingolf tournament. The goal is to achieve the score or stated objective for each game in as few balls as possible over 9 holes (games). Top 12 will qualify for playoffs, which will feature more difficult objectives. Games will be set to 5 balls, & a score will be awarded based on what ball number the stated objective was achieved in. For example, if on ball 3 you reached a score of 20 million as the stated objective on T2, you will receive 3 points. If the stated objective is not achieved within 5 balls, a score of 6 will be awarded.
The top 8 (lowest) golf scores will enter the A side playoffs in matchplay style pingolf play (2 x 4 player groups, 4 games). The top 2 in each group will advance to the final.
The next 4 (lowest) golf scores will enter the B side playoffs, however players in the top 1500 will not be eligible for the B side. They will play a 4 game final.
Prizes to the top 4 playoff finishers on the A side, top 2 playoff finishers on the B side, & a secret prize to 1 of the players that completes all 9 holes. Details to be revealed at the event.

9AM Tournament Starts
This is a Group Match Play Qualifying with Random Pairings to start and tiered swiss thereafter if available. If Tiered Swiss is not available then we will do Swiss. 7 rounds (2 game banks). 7/5/3/1 scoring per game. After 7 rounds the Top 12-16 Players make the Main Playoffs on Saturday. We will have ‘B’ (Next 8 players) and ‘C’ playoffs (Next 8 players). Players with an IFPA rank of 1 to 1500 will not be eligible for B or C playoffs. Everyone will be seeded 1-16. Automatic Tie Breakers will be turned on. The exception to Automatic Tiebreakers will be for 16th position. That position will have a 1 game playoff drawn at random by the tournament director immediately at the conclusion of qualifying. This will be done so all players know who are in the finals, who has a choice of banks, and who they are playing in the 1st round.
Match Play Playoffs
September 29 @ 9:00 am – 3:30 pm CDT
Playoffs will be Groups of 4 players, 3 Rounds (quarter finals, semi finals, and finals) Total, on 4 Game Banks with 3/2/1/0 scoring. Top 2 advance & bottom 2 eliminated. Final position 1st-16th will be determined solely by your play in the playoffs. No points carry over from qualifying. 16th position is significant. All players who are tied at 16th who participate in the 1 game playoff who do not end up in the top 16 will have their final position in the tournament determined by the score of this one game playoff. So if 10 people are tied for 16th and only 1 makes it to the final, the other 9 will have 17th-25th position will be determined by their finishing score/position on that tiebreaker game.

You will play in groups of 4 players (3 when necessary), random seeding to start, then swiss style pairing thereafter. 4 player groups get 0/1/2/3 strikes per round (1 game per round), 3 player groups get 0/1/2 strikes per round. Once you receive 10 strikes you’re out of the tournament. Once Eliminated. You can get up to 10 strikes based on this format. If you are eliminated in a round with say 10 strikes (started with 9 and got last so you get 3 strikes added) and someone else finished with 11 strikes in the same round, you will be behind them in the overall standings even though you were eliminated in the same round.
Only ties for 1st through 4th will be broken as necessary for prizes/trophies. But only a tie for 1st is significant and will be reported to IFPA as a true win. All other ties will stand as far as IFPA points are concerned.
Tie breakers for major positions such as 1st through 4th will be a 1 game tiebreaker at the choice of the tournament director
