Avengers: Infinity Quest First Impressions

Stern released a trailer for the new game designed by Keith Elwin Avengers: Infinity Quest. If you have not seen the trailer you can check it out at Stern’s YouTube.

The game is based on the comic books and not the movies, so if you want The Avengers theme from the movies you will need to supply it yourself. The right ramp is huge allowing it to be hit from any flipper. On the left is a Doctor Strange spinner that reminds me of Safecracker.  The spinner can determine direction and speed which might require trying to keep hitting it one way.  With the premium and limited edition it opens up allowing a ball to go                                                                                             under the playfield.

On the premium and limited edition there is a vertical loop. Not sure how hard it will be to send a ball up it.

It’s hard to judge machines without seeing them played. Gameplay reveal of the premium is September 9 at 5pm CDT on Deadflip’s twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/deadflip. The pro model will be on revealed September 11 at 3pm CDT on the Marvel’s twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/marvel. After the streams will share my thoughts on the game.

Deadpool is coming to pinball

Stern announced a new pinball machine, Deadpool is becoming a pinball machine. It will be based on the comic book due to Ryan Reynolds being really expensive to get for voice work. Going with the comic book also allows for more things that have not been in the movies.

Very little has been revealed about the game so I am going to go over what I think will be included. Expect Deadpool to make fun of you if the ball drains quickly. Most likely with colourful language not suitable for everyone unless you turn it off. Deadpool is known for being self-aware meaning there will be mentions about playing a pinball machine and maybe bad mouthing other Stern machines. I would like to see Deadpool start playing automatically if you do not launch the ball fast enough. You might hear “Hey I already beat your score” if you score is low. There would have to be a setting to turn autoplay off or having to make a shot in order to keep the points. Maybe it will make one shot than traps the ball for a bit before draining it. Another idea could be a video mode where Deadpool plays a pinball machine so you would be playing a video game pinball while playing pinball.
