Spring Pinball Rumble @ Iceberg Arcade

Spring Pinball Rumble is a tiered-swiss, target matchplay, with playoffs, format tournament @ Sych Drywall (8 Don Valley Parkway, Sunnyside MB)

Doors open at 11am tournament starts at 12 Noon

$20 entry or $35 entry for players with an IFPA rank of 1500 or better

Players will be placed into four-player groups (occasionally three-player) to compete on an individual, randomly selected machine. alternating between a Modern era round and a classics round

Points will be awarded based upon performance on that machine (3/2/1/0) and added to a running total for the tournament.

A player qualifies for finals by reaching or passing a target value of 30 points at which point the player no longer competes in the qualification rounds.

Match play will continue until all available finals positions are filled.

Top 12-16 will make it to playoffs depending on attendance

Next 8 will make it to B-side (cannot be ranked 1500 or better to play in B-side)

Substantial ties for qualification will be broken with a 1 game playoff. Position ties will be broken by the number of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for each of the completed rounds.

Playoffs will then start for A-side and B-side. 3 games per round. 4 player matchplay final with 4/2/1/0 scoring. Top 2 players with the most points at the end of 3 games will move to next round. For final round 4 players on 3 games, final order will be determined by points at the end of 3 games. Tiebreakers will be done on a randomly chosen game. 1st machine is chosen by the highest seed, highest seed then chooses playing position, second seed chooses second, etc. On subsequent games, the person with the lowest score on the previous game gets to choose game/position first. Once a game is chosen, it may not be picked for the remainder of the playoffs

Prize money will be split 50/50 between A-side and B-side

Cash prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th for both A and B sides.

Pinball Tournament and Buffet MacGarvie Company at 212 Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk

We’re less than a week away (Saturday March 2nd) from our first tournament at the MacGarvie Company at 212 Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk. Tournament starts at 5pm and there will be a buffet offered for food. Tickets for the tournament and buffet are $30 and you can e-transfer Dave at dave@manitobapinball.com and give your name and say MacGarvie. If you just want to play in the tournament it’s $20. And a buffet ticket at the door will be $20 so it’s a great deal if you pre-register. Some great games there already and a couple more coming for the event. It’s a Beat The Clock ⏰ tournament with 5 hours of qualifying and playoffs starting at 10pm papa style 3 game rounds for top 8. The Manitoba Pinball League is pleased to announce a set of events for winter.

Friday, December 3 at AMCC (940 Vimy Rd) 6:30pm start time $2 entry: Casual League starts back up.

The casual league is a great place to experience competitive pinball. The rules on asking for help on games are reduced to help learn the games. In the past we had several children come out to play in the casual league.

Monday, December 6 at Phantom Amusement 7:00pm start time $2 entry:  Women’s League Tournament.

We will play 8 games with 4 points going to 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th. At the end of 8 games, the 3 with the most points win 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

We will play 6 games with 4 points going to 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th. At the end of 8 games, the 3 with the most points win 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Phantom Amusement 7:00pm start time $2 entry : Manitoba Pinball League 4th season

The Manitoba Pinball League is a monthly event. Each month we play 8 games against random opponents each round. 5 points going to 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 2 points for 3rd, and 1 point for 4th. Point totals for each event get added to your running total. After 10 events the top 16 point earners qualify for the playoffs. Your top 8 scores will count for the final tally. This allows you to miss a month or two and bounce back from a bad event.

2022 marks the return of IFPA points. Play in the league and tournaments to earn IFPA points based on placement in an event. Top 16 in December compete for the Provincial Championship. Where the winner represents Manitoba at The North American Championship.

November Events With The Return of The Pinhead Cup

Pinhead Cup

November 10, 7pm, $10 Entry Fee

The Pinhead Cup is the premier open tournament in Manitoba. It predates the creation of the Manitoba Pinball League. Starting in 2011, the Pinhead Cup is the longest-running pinball tournament in Manitoba. The event has also been the longest to compete in, besides the provincial championship series.
For this Major tournament, the stakes have been raised. Entry fee is $10. There will be an exciting playoff format. 8 rounds of match play will be played. After the 8 rounds, the person in first will get a bye to the finals. Second and third will play a best of 3 games, where the winner will go on the final. The person who does not win the 2 vs 3 match will face off in the third-place match against the winner of the fourth vs fifth match which is also a best of three.
The champion will get their name on the Pinhead Cup, as well as a plaque. Second and third will each get a plaque for their placement.
